Join us for a day of fun and meaningful work as we tend to our beautiful nursery and care for our plants. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, learn more about native plants, and make a positive impact on our community.
We are now accepting RSVPs via email at: syceo@chumash.gov. This event is open to the Chumash community and the general public. Please RSVP by noon on June 4.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Chumash Family Days
The Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office is truly excited to announce our partnership with The Nature Conservancy, which offers a wonderful opportunity for Chumash families to visit the Jack & Laura Dangermond Preserve located near Jalama Beach and learn about the diverse plants, wild animals, and rich history associated with the preserve.
The Dangermond Preserve is located on the ancestral lands of the Chumash people, who have nurtured and lived in harmony with this vibrant area for over 13,000 years, preserving its cultural significance and natural beauty for generations to come.
This engaging day will feature a guided walk along a beautiful, flat coastal trail, with opportunities for birdwatching as participants take in the stunning scenery. The day will also include ample time for a provided lunch and relaxation on the beach.
