Earth Day 2016 Results
On April 23rd
, the community gathered once again welcoming over 70 guests for an eventful and successful Chumash Earth Day at Tribal Hall.
Those who attended participated in booth visits with demonstrations, a nature walk that included a scavenger hunt, a reservation and creek clean-up, a group tree planting the Coastal Redwoods, bicycle-powered smoothies, and countless other booth education activities. Throughout the day, guests that signed in received tickets to a raffle that distributed prizes including a hammock, lawn chairs, a 2-man tent, and a local dinner gift certificate.
A big thank you to all that came and volunteered to include Team Chumash, Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Permaculture Network, Santa Ynez Valley Solar, C.E.R.T., Fish and Wildlife’s California Condor Recovery Program representatives, Down to Earth, and Rob Larkin for our live music.
