Our Programs and Projects
The Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office (SYCEO) works with the Tribal government, community members, and the staff of the Chumash Casino Resort to maximize efficient energy use, efficient water use, reduce waste and improve both the natural and built environment. The staff of the SYCEO focuses on seven main program areas, with a number of projects being implemented under each area:

- Waste (Reuse, Recycling & Composting)
- Wildlife & Habitat
- Climate Change
- Community Garden
The SYCEO hosts a number of annual events and provides a range of community services to help get everyone engaged in reducing the Tribe’s environmental footprint.
